A/W 1995 Maison Martin Margiela fuchsia sleeveless 'lining' mini dress. Scoop neck sleeveless pink sheath dress with visible back zip closure, featuring raised seams - intentionally created to look like the interior lining of a dress if removed to stand alone. Notated on tag: "Reproduction of a series of clothing interiors / Lining of a dress. / Germany. 1950s." In very good / excellent vintage condition with intentional distress and wear throughout consistent with 'lining' motif. In very good vintage condition with wear throughout consistent with intentional stylization of piece; has been taken to couture cleaners and arrives ready to wear.
Fuchsia pink colorway highlighted through majority of the season (Look 1 - Look 16). Top featured on runway, and dress seen in Palais Galliera. The Palais Galliera collection notes: "This 'lining worn as a dress' is based on a model from the 1960s. Presented for the first time in grey in the spring-summer 1995 collection, it is presented here in fuchsia, the main color of the collection, with woollen tights and a coordinated veil."
