More Information

[RARE] 1995 Vivienne Westwood one-of-one white flocked Boulle print fringe trim shawl. Long, 15-foot shawl originally styled as veil (can be styled as skirt or semi-sheer dress as desired), featuring rare white Boulle print design. This special shawl was commissioned for a wedding in 1995 on special made-to-order request from Vivienne Westwood herself at her Davies Street store in London, utilizing pattern inspiration from A/W 1992 runway. In very good vintage condition with minor missing fringe.

Provenance: The personal collection of a former employee of Vivienne Westwood, who worked directly with the designer in London, based off of the sleeveless corset with Boulle pattern on the A/W 1992 runway. Commissioned for a wedding in 1995 as a made-to-order piece from the Davies Street store in London. The 'Boulle' print design was inspired by a mirror in the Wallace Museum as created by Andre-Charles Boulle in 1713. Sleeveless version featured in Elle UK's "Fly by Night" editorial in the September 1993 issue photographed by Peggy Sirota. As seen in the V & A Museum (V & A Museum version created for Lady Bianca Job-Tyoran to wear to Queen Charlotte's Ball in 1994). Note that skirt and stole are also available for purchase, sold separately and NOT included with purchase).
