A/W 1988 Azzedine Alaïa black collared above-knee blazer dress. Long sleeve blazer dress with single front left side pocket at bust and gathered tie front, featuring double-breasted small black button front closures. Functional pockets at hips and concealed zip closure. Slight openings at wrist and slight shoulder pads add unique detailing to silhouette when worn.
Maxi dress version featured on Naomi Campbell, photographed by Peter Lindebergh for Vogue Italia; as seen held in the Met Museum. The Met Museum notates: "This corseted, woolen little black dress with a double-breasted closure and wide lapels fuses masculine and feminine dress codes into a garment characteristic of Alaïa's commanding signature." In excellent vintage condition with no flaws to note, with exception of very faint wool odor with age; has been taken to couture cleaner.
