A/W 1961 Madame Grès Haute Couture black strapless hand-pleated gown with moderate train. Rare black jersey gown with hand-pleated bustier and circle details at center of bust. Built-in boning at bustier with side hook-and-eye closures and additional zip and snap closures at center front. Velvet paneling layered over interior boning for comfortability when worn. Silk crepe jersey fabric. In good vintage condition with pulls / small holes at hemline (very faintly noticeable when worn), wear at lower bust and light creasing at pleating; otherwise in extraordinary vintage condition, particularly for age.
